    The Long Goodbye

    看高錕的訪問, 患上老人痴呆症的諾貝爾得獎者由太太陪著.  老人痴呆症 (台灣譯阿茲海默症), 最痛苦的應該是身邊的人. 
    看王文華一篇文章 (http://www.readingtimes.com.tw/TimesHtml/authors/tomwang/works/Goodbye.htm), 知道此症另有別名 The long Goodbye. 真是個好名字. 要走了, 卻不能瀟灑地不帶走一片雲彩, 而是拖拉著衰退.  對一個學者, 這個病很殘忍, 雖然其實他什麼都已經不記得了, 連被全世界認同的成就, 都不記得了.
    陶傑也曾經寫過, 患者的記憶像一塊寫滿字的黑板, 由中心開始慢慢被擦掉, 首先是忘記近來的事; 然後被擦的地方越來越大, 最後世界只剩下一片空白, 甚至連自己都不在. 可以忘記, 其實也是幸福的.
    The long goodbye, 是因為那是一個跟身邊所有事說拜拜的過程, 像不像提早體會到涅槃.
    光纖很了不起, 做就了現在互聯網的繁興, 我這等電腦宅童, 衷心希望高先生的症狀不要再嚴重下去.
     
    他朝君體也相同 -- 這是我近來常常想著的一句. 在 say goodbye 之前, 要過得好幸福.
